In the Library
November 20, 2016
Apologies for the lack of posts recently. I’ve been busy with other projects, including a new book project editing an anthology of critical essays on James Ellroy. I’m very excited about that, and at the thought of getting back to blogging soon.
I’ve also had time to have my study redecorated. I’m very pleased with it, and for the first time I really feel like I have my own private library. There is a dedicated Ellroy shelf with a photo of the Demon Dog and I taken back in 2009. It’s overlooking the computer so he can keep an eye on me and make sure I’m working.

I’m a huge Ellroy fan. I just wanted to say this is a fantastic site and that I’ve enjoyed your book of Ellroy interviews as well as last year’s book analyzing his novels. Have you considered a future project that takes a looks at his film scripts and television ideas? This seems like an area of Ellroy’s career that (understandably) has gone unexplored.
Thanks Dan, well I’m currently working on Ellroy Book number 3, and while I think there is definitely space for a study of his film and TV scripts I believe it will be constructed by another Ellrovian scholar.
